AAW is open — Updates from our Director

AAW is open! Our staff have continued their support to the individuals that we serve throughout the COVID 19 Pandemic. We continue to provide Job Coaching to the individuals who have remained at, or returned to their jobs, and are staying in contact with those who have separated from their employers during this time. Staying in contact with our Host Employers is also a must to ensure we are ready to provide support when the rest of the AAW workforce returns to their places of employment.

The key to the success for those returning to work starts with communication. AAW staff are willing and able to assist in ongoing communication between employer and employee to get back on the right foot. Each employment situation is unique and requires a person-centered approach to ensure that supports are in place for a smooth re-entry to the job site.

We are optimistic that the vast majority of the individuals that we serve will return to their previous employers. If that does not materialize for some, we are looking forward to reaching out to the business community to find new opportunities. If you are looking for reliable employees for your organization, do not hesitate to email us at info@abilitiesatwork.org.

In the spirit of moving forward, we have a new and improved website at www.abilitiesatwork.org. We feel that you will find it not only informative but easy to navigate. Take a moment to check it out and give us your feedback.

The date for our fabulous Summer Picnic is not confirmed at this time. We will be in touch as soon as we can with additional info.

Be safe, wear a mask, keep social distancing, and be understanding of others with regard to the stress that they may be experiencing during this situation.

We are in this together.

Sincerely,

Gerald Pearce, Executive Director
